The current situation regarding coronavirus (Covid-19) is causing uncertainty and impacting every aspect of all our lives. Guests with upcoming bookings are understandably concerned and many have questions about whether they should continue with their holiday plans.
The position regarding coronavirus is changing on a daily basis and we are constantly monitoring and reviewing the situation. Please ensure that our email address is in your Contacts List and that you regularly check your Spam file in order to obtain the latest update.
As of Tuesday 17th March 2020, we remain open for business. The Barn is situated in a very rural location and unless you choose to, you will not come in to contact with other people. For obvious reasons, for the current time we have suspended greeting guests or visiting them during their stay. However, we can be contacted by phone, email, or messenger in case of any issues.
We have stringent cleaning policies in place. We are following the NHS guidelines on how to prevent the spread of germs and are remaining up to date with the Department for Health & Social Care’s advice.
As a result of the additional cleaning measures, we are introducing a delay in the arrival time from after 3pm to after 4pm.
If you have any questions, please refer to the following which outlines the current policy, as of today.
Please contact your insurance company for specific advice regarding your individual policy. However, we have spoken with several insurance companies and all advised that their policies covered cancellations due to contracting Covid-19. However, it is our understanding that most travel insurers have now withdrawn this cover for new policies. Again, you would need to contact insurers directly to ascertain if you are currently able to obtain cover.
We advise both during the booking process and in our Terms and Conditions that guests take out insurance cover. If you didn’t do this, please check whether your bank or credit card company offer travel insurance as some include this in their benefits and you may not be aware.
We are following government advice on age and travel restrictions. If you are over the age of 70 and your holiday is due to commence before the 17th June 2020, please contact us via email immediately. We will amend your booking dates or give you a voucher to use against a future booking. We will also waive our usual administration fee.
At the current time, the government has not imposed any travel restrictions within the UK. We are currently not offering refunds if you decide that you do not wish to fulfil your booking. You will need to refer to your holiday insurer in these circumstances.
If you have travel insurance, please speak to your insurance provider. If you do not have travel insurance and you are due to travel up to 17th June 2020, please contact us immediately. Unfortunately, we will not be able to refund or transfer your deposit payment but we will either transfer your balance payment or give you a voucher for this sum to use against a future booking.
Balance payments are usually due 42 days prior to the commencement of your holiday. As of 17th March 2020, we have reduced this to 28 days until further notice. This is to provide more flexibility and allow everyone to monitor the constantly changing situation.
These are unprecedented times and no doubt the situation will continue to change on an almost daily basis. The most important thing is that we all stay safe and healthy and follow the Government advice. We will continue to update you as that changes and we will do our utmost to accommodate the individual needs of guests.
If you have any other questions, please contact us. We request that unless it is urgent, can you please email us.17th March 2020
