Beaches

Cefn Sidan

Located within Pembrey Country Park, Cefn Sidan beach (27 miles), has over 6 miles of beach that is available for dog walking year round. Dogs are also welcome in the extensive grassland and forest that adjoin the beach and in the majority of the Country Park.

Ferryside

The picturesque Ferryside beach (23 miles) has no restrictions on dogs at any time. There is a car park in the centre of the village less than 50 metres from the beach. Facilities in the village include toilets, pubs, cafes and a few shops. Nearby St. Ishmaels also has a dog friendly, restriction free beach.

Llansteffan

Llansteffan (23 miles) is a lovely uncrowded beach. There is a car park adjacent to the beach with toilets, shop and a cafe. The beach is overlooked by Llansteffan Castle and a relaxing walk up to the ruins offers stunning views of Carmarthen Bay and the estuary. A section of the beach has restrictions for dogs May – September; however, there is still plenty to explore including the secluded golden sands of Scotts Bay and the 3 mile dog-friendly Llansteffan Walk.

Pendine Sands

Pendine Sands (32 miles) is a 7 mile long beach on the shores of Carmarthen Bay. Pendine is famous for land speed record attempts and where Malcolm Campbell and J.G. Parry-Thomas set the world land speed record five times in the 1920s. There is a car park near the beach and good toilet facilities. The village of Pendine has cafes, and great seaside fish and chip shops. The beach has restrictions for dogs in one section between May – September, but there is still plenty of space available for dogs to run freely.
